FAQs
We are based between Sydney, Australia on Wallumedegal land in the sunburnt country Down Under; and Seoul, South Korea – the Land of the Morning Calm. South Korea is our mother’s country, and it is with pride in the work ethic and craftsmanship of our ancestry that we produce our clothing here.
Each piece begins as an idea dreamt up by our designer Fatima, in our sunny Sydney studio. Our small team then travels to bustling Seoul to select fabrics, beautiful buttons and the highest quality zips and trims to develop samples and test the perfect fit.
We work with local, family-run suppliers and manufacturers in Seoul, South Korea.
Our sewing patterns are hand drawn by Mr Yoo and his team of 3 long-time friends. He never fails to serve us apple juice when we drop by, with an endearing expression of bewilderment and amusement. We haven’t worked out which one yet.
Our pants and skirts are sewn by Mr & Mrs Choi in their family-run factory. Mr Choi is precise and knowledgeable; always making suggestions on how we can improve every piece.
The rest of our clothing is sewn by Mr Kim, his lovely wife, brother and small team in their family-run factory. We often drop by to provide buttons, labels and fabric throughout production.

We are currently stocked online only, on our website. By cutting out the middleman, we can keep our little community close and personal, and save on retail mark-ups, overheads, exporting and other costs. We pass these savings on to our customers.
We understand the importance of being able to touch and try on clothing as a part of the shopping experience, so we accept returns within 14 business days after receipt of items. If you need any help with finding the right fit, please contact us - we're always happy to help.
We’ve included a little gift from our two homes with every parcel we send.
The first is tea from Bushell’s, Australia’s first commercial tea company. It reminds us of early mornings in Sydney, sitting with a warm cuppa in a patch of sun outside the front door, daydreaming in Mum’s garden. Our neighbour’s ginger cat (aptly named ‘Cookies’and pseudo-adopted by our family) would sit in one of our laps purring and digging his claws into our legs.
The second is a green tea cookie made in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. It is produced by local company “We Can Cookies”; who create employment opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people. We love their vision statement: “We don’t hire disabled people to make cookies, we make cookies to hire disabled people.”
We hope you’ll enjoy your cuppa and cookie in some sunny patch, wherever you are in the world.
Ingredients: Wheat flour, butter, organic sugar, egg (free-range, non-antibiotic), green tea powder, salt. May contain traces of nuts, soy & gluten.
We keep an eye on popular styles and restock where possible, however, we choose to use limited supply fabrics to prevent over-production. Therefore, the majority of our styles are limited in quantity.

Sustainability & Ethics
For a fashion brand to be truly sustainable, it should not exist. This is the reality that we use as our starting point in every decision we make. We often ask ourselves - why do we exist? What are we offering that doesn’t already exist in abundance?
Quality is our answer and vintage clothing gives us an example to follow.
Growing up, Mum would often take us to op-shops to buy clothes. Our designer Fatima’s first job as a teenager was at an op-shop in Sydney. Mum would also redesign or mend our clothes, which would become hand-me-downs. She currently volunteers at a secondhand store and still collects beautiful vintage pieces for us to be inspired by.
We ourselves only purchase clothing when we need to, and a large portion of our wardrobes are preloved vintage or op-shop finds and hand-me-downs. Vintage clothing was made to last, and it is with this thread of integrity that we create our own brand’s clothing.
For longevity, we choose to sew French seams instead of overlocking or use bound seams where we can. We also use stronger threads, tighter stitching, and lining for particular garments. This doesn’t solve the problem of sustainability. But if it means that somebody will buy one of our garments and keep it for several years instead of purchasing multiple fast-fashion items, that’s an achievement for us.
We deliberately select genuine mother-of-pearl, akoya shell, trocas shell, corozo nut, leather and horn buttons as we find that the quality of these surpasses that of plastic imitations. We also use genuine Japanese YKK zips –renowned for their quality- for all of our clothing.
We choose to work with limited run fabrics that are not overproduced. This means our production runs are limited, according to fabric availability. Throughout our manufacturing process all leftover fabrics, thread, buttons and labels are sent back to us and reused in sampling for the next season.
We produce two seasons per year in limited quantities because we value quality and longevity, avoiding overproduction. We believe that by creating well-made clothing in limited supply, we can help to reduce waste.
To reduce our carbon footprint and emissions we don’t ship our clothing back to our studio in Sydney after production. Instead, we store our inventory in a small space in Seoul and send out orders directly from this location. Our dispatch space is located only 20 minutes away from our family-run manufacturers, reducing delivery time and emissions. We use a tightly-packed small delivery van to transport our garments from our factories (usually taking two trips maximum).
The next challenge for us is packaging - namely replacing our poly bags (used to protect clothing from water damage during shipping), and finding the best way to reduce our dependence on them.
As a bare minimum, we also reduce waste where we can in our studio and sort all of our trash for recycling and compost.
There’s a difference between living wage and minimum wage. Exploiting developing countries for cheap labour and lax labour laws or as some call it, “working with local artisans”, is not necessarily ethical unless a living wage and safe working conditions are guaranteed.
We currently work with two small family-run factories in Seoul, South Korea with a maximum capacity of 10 employees. We personally know the lovely people who make our clothing and are able to drop by and monitor our factories as often as we like.
As a gesture of support to the local community in South Korea, we have chosen to gift a green tea cookie with every purchase. These scrumptious delights are made in Gyeonggi Province by local company “We Can Cookies”; who create employment opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people. We love their vision statement: “We don’t hire disabled people to make cookies, we make cookies to hire disabled people.”
Our ultimate goal is to design beautiful, good quality clothing made to last –which, in a perfect world, would be mixed in with a wardrobe of vintage discoveries. Worn with love, mended, repurposed and handed down through time.
